Urban Art festival: the vision of Lek & Sowat

On the initiative of the Marseille artists' collective Lartmada, and in collaboration with the town of Port de Bouc (Bouches-du-Rhône department - France), the Urban Art festival "Les Nouveaux ateliers" is offering its second edition from 31 May to 5 June 2021.

For the occasion, 10 artists from the international Urban Art scene will be given free rein to paint the facades of the town centre of Port de Bouc.

Working in duo, Lek & Sowat will put their abstract vision of architecture into action on the facade of the Gymnase Mistral.

"Les Nouveaux Ateliers" named in memory of the building sites and workshops in Provence. The shipyard founded in Port-de-Bouc in 1899 built up to 200 ships before closing in 1966.

This tribute to this unique industrial and maritime past is the anchor of the festival which brings together different generations of Port-de-Bouc inhabitants to discover urban art.
